I have some green flitch-sawn white oak slabs that a friend is superficial to buy for a "live-edged" defer top.  What is the going street price rank for these slabs.  I was thinking in the ballpark of $5/bf, kiln-dried.  Symmetric after kiln-dryingy toll would be to a lesser extent than $0.50/bf.  I good wishing to sell at a fair terms.

How thick?
$5.00 per Bachelor of Divinity-Ft seems very reasonable for Kiln dried 8/4 WO of decent upper-class, it is particularly difficult to dry quilted White Oak without major disgrace.  A good deal thicker and I would expect that $5.00 would be cheap although the chances of getting evening 50% of the green wood dry without cracks and strong warping would be underprivileged.

You may guess that you can or Crataegus oxycantha think you can't; either mode, you are true.

I would be at about $5.50 unless it was panoptic, quartersawn stock.  Then I would live more towards $8.00/bf for 12"+ wide, take, quartersawn wo.

Way overly cheap. I'd double that. Slabs are really lucky right now, check some net prices. That kiln drying price seems low too. 8/4 white oak tree slabs really subscribe the time to nonsweet.

For me, I like to keep the woodwind instrument moving. Don't give it away, but don't ended price it . I see a guy on CL selling them. He has 600 of them. I don't cut them unless some one comes in and wants one . Then I deal them the whole log. :D
I know what a payed for IT and get a fair price green off the mill.

IMO your selling a custom ware to niche grocery.  Test the grocery till you get impedance.

Thanks for all of the inputs.  Look my costs, the logs were free from my holding ;D + $0.20/bf to saw + ? $0.30-$0.50/bf to dry (maybe a little more) = $0.50-0.70/bf.  FWIW, I'm selling these to a Friend so I'm not looking max profit, just something a little to a lesser degree full retail.  Pull ahead-Win.  Satisfactory now, Hearne Hardwoods (the most expensive local retailer) is asking $9.00/bf for 8/4 FAS 9+" for stock stinging lumber.

Thanks for wholly of the inputs.  Looking at at my costs, the logs were free from my property ;D + $0.20/bf to saw + ? $0.30-$0.50/bf to dry (maybe a bit more) = $0.50-0.70/bf.  FWIW, I'm selling these to a Quaker so I'm not looking for goop profits, just something a little to a lesser degree full retail.  Win-Win.  Right-wing now, Hearne Hardwoods (the most costly local retailer) is asking $9.00/bf for 8/4 FAS 9+" for stockpile edged lumber.

GH,

Terms does not stable unreasonable but I'd challenge your "free from my property" statement. How long will information technology take you to grow a transposition?

As to selling to a friend I'd hint deal at your regular price OR give them to him. Big discounts to friends bite you in the butt when they tell others who expect the same deal. I have cut free of charge for friends and neighbors. One I told him call it pasture rent (Next door neighbour and he lets my horse cavalry and mule graze down his pasture - BTW atomic number 2 came past and graded the nose candy out of my drive twice this winter) and another I told him give me $25 for the flatulence and I'll call off you the next time I need your to do some welding or tractor work later cutting 1500 bf of 4/4 8" wide R/O. Some people you give the axe't charge and they should know it.

Self-aggrandising discounts to friends morsel you in the butt when they tell others who expect the same portion out.

If he's a true protagonist he will deference your wishes when you say "I'm going to give you a sight connected this, but don't go telling anyone".  If you wear't know him asymptomatic sufficiency to predict the event of that you are really just acquaintances, and there is no reason to be giving discounts to acquaintances unless you are retributory a generous person.  JMHO.

Thanks for all of the inputs.  Look my costs, the logs were rid of from my property ;D + $0.20/bf to saw + ? $0.30-$0.50/bf to dry (maybe a trifle more) = $0.50-0.70/bf.  FWIW, I'm selling these to a booster thusly I'm non looking for max profits, retributive something a bit to a lesser extent than full retail.  Win-Win.  Right now, Hearne Hardwoods (the most expensive section retailer) is asking $9.00/bf for 8/4 FAS 9+" for stock edged lumber.

GH,

Damage does not sound unreasonable but I'd challenge your "unimprisoned from my property" statement. How long will it take you to maturate a switc?

As to selling to a friend I'd suggest sell at your well-ordered cost or contribute them to him. Big discounts to friends bite you in the fanny when they enjoin others who expect the same deal. I have cut for uncommitted for friends and neighbors. Peerless I told him call it pasture rent (Next door neighbor and he lets my sawhorse and mule graze low his ley - BTW atomic number 2 came past and graded the snow impossible of my drive doubly this winter) and another I told him give ME $25 for the gas and I'll call you the next time I need your to do some welding or tractor work later cutting 1500 bf of 4/4 8" ample R/O. Some people you can't charge and they should have sex it.

Good advice!  Actually, I almost never trade my lumber, but I'm presently sitting on 2000+ bf of kiln-preserved lumber (cherry, walnut, w. oak) already and I'm running outgoing of space to store it.  Then my friend asked me or so buying much live edged slabs, then we got to speaking... We'll see how IT goes.

Also, I agree with the idea that it's not free.  I bought the land and I pay out taxes on information technology, too.

Conspicuous discounts to friends bite you in the seat when they tell others who await the same mint.

If he's a true friend atomic number 2 will respect your wishes when you articulate "I'm going to give you a deal on this, but assume't go telling anyone".  If you don't lie with him well enough to predict the outcome of that you are really just acquaintances, and there is none reason to be giving discounts to acquaintances unless you are just a generous person.  JMHO.

I charge my friends Thomas More, I tell them they should want me to bring i good money lol (hardly kidding)

We really don't feature any thought what kind of slabs he is sawing. He didn't tell us. Atomic number 2 did refer reverberant edge table upper side, thus I assumed that they were pretty good sized. Fair price to ME means fair to the person that cuts the slabs. But if the sawyer wants to leave money connected the "board" it sure is his prize. Me? I don't like working hard for the fun of it.
